Patrick Dempsey Rocks Spandex At 2012 Amgen Tour Press Conference

Patrick Dempsey, an avid cycling enthusiast, wore his finest racing spandex in Beverly Hills on Wednesday to announce that the ritzy El Lay county city would host stage 8 of the 2012 Amgen Tour of California.

The 8th and final stage of California's biggest cycling event will send riders on a 44.7 mile journey through Los Angeles until they cross the finish line at L.A. Live.

Patrick Dempsey showed up during testing for the Rolex Sports Car Series Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway Daytona Beach!

We've all known for a while know that PD is a huge fan of racing, but it's still kinda funny to see him in that full get-up!

Plus, why is he holding a skull??

Patrick Dempsey Bikes It Through Malibu

Whose that spandex stud? It's Patrick Dempsey!

The Grey's Anatomy star and cycling enthusiast wasn't afraid to show off his colorful biking gear as he rode through Malibu with his wife on Thursday.

He's no newb to the sport either. In fact, Patrick recently raised $1 million for charity by holding a 2-day cycling challenge in Maine, in which participants biked up to 100 miles!

We're glad to see he not only uses his passion to enrich his own life, but other's lives as well!

Patrick Dempsey Challenge Raises $1 Million For Cancer Research

Patrick Dempsey not only plays a life saver on television, but he's busy saving lives in reality too!

The Grey's Anatomy actor, who opened The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing in 2008, raised $1 million over the weekend for cancer research during the two-day Dempsey Challenge!

Nearly 4,000 participents gathered near the actor's hometown in western Maine to walk, run, or cycle to raise money for fighting the disease!

The annual fundraiser requires participants to raise $150 or more then either walk/run their choice of a 5k or 10K race or cycle for up to 100 miles!

Sounds like a grueling, but rewarding workout!
