Hines Ward Sentenced For DUI

Hines Ward DUI sentencing

Hey! A celebrity was finally kind of, sort of punished for breaking the law and putting other lives in jeopardy!

Just kidding, but what else is new?

Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Hines Ward was arrested for a DUI in Georgia last July after cops pulled him over for driving pretty recklessly.

The wasted NFL player was apparently swerving in and out of his lane, then hit a curb before being pulled over and eventually charged.

Well, he's not going to jail, but he's been sentenced to 12 months of probation, plus 80 hours of community service as part of a plea deal in which he pled guilty to reckless driving to get the DUI charge dropped.

He's also gotta pay $2,000 in fines and court costs, but that's the easy part for celebs. What about his license? That should be the first thing to go when ANYBODY gets caught driving under the influence!

Does anyone else feel a little uneasy that prosecutors agreed to drop the DUI charge entirely? If Georgia is that lax about driving drunk, we're not sure we want to risk our lives on those roads!

MSG Gets Record Ratings Because Of Jeremy Lin

Filed Under: TV News Basketball Jeremy Lin Linsanity

Jeremy Lin Ratings

The Knicks are getting all kinds of attention, and you know why.

It's Jeremy Lin, the the new starting guard that's been blowing everyone away. He's like Lebron James, just not as cocky and we don't get the feeling he'll betray his home team.

Anyway, the new hero drove regional sports net MSG to its highest ratings for a regular season event in the 23 years — that's since the network has been tracking household ratings, beating a record that had stood for almost 17 years!! WOW!

On Feb. 17 and Feb. 20 it pulled in an averaged 7.37 Nielsen household rating (540,788 households) and 7.34/542,265 respectively for the network!

Here's what the president of the network said:

"This is a basketball town and the Knicks' recent performance, combined with Jeremy Lin's compelling story, has created unparalleled demand for these games."

Nothing against them, but let's be honest — these numbers would not be happening without Lin.

Either way, this spells good news for the team and network!
