Paul McCartney raised his daughter Mary right!

The photographer, who is a vegetarian and passionate animal rights activist, has just released her first cookbook. Food utilizes stories from her childhood and her own photography to teach readers how to reduce the amount of meat they eat on a regular basis by introducing them to creative new recipes.

The publisher describes the vegetarian cookbook as:

"Fresh, inspirational and irresistible, Mary's first cookbook will enthuse readers to bring more meat-free cooking into their repertoires. From Fruit and Nut Granola to Asparagus Tart, Mexican Bean Tortilla to Coconut Rice Pudding, Mary gives us ideas for every meal, from breakfasts to Sunday roasts, and offers new twists on old classics like pancakes, and Shepherd's Pie."

The Beatles frontman supported his daughter all the way on Thursday in London by attending the book launch with his lovely new wife Nancy Shevell. As you can see in the pictures (below), the fans went wild for Mary's famous dad outside of the party.

Olympic london games

First we heard Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Sir Mick Jagger, and John Lydon from the Sex Pistols were teaming up to perform at the 2012 London Olympic games, which was exciting enough, but this just keeps getting better and better!

Academy Award winning director Danny Boyle is serving as the ceremony's artistic director and revealed that the show has been inspired by William Shakespeare's The Tempest!

Boyle described the show's narrative as the recovery of land that has been poisoned by industrial legacy. The ceremony will commence with the ringing of a specially commissioned bell inscribed with a line from The Tempest: "Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises."

The "Isle of Wonders" themed live production on July 27th will last longer than 3 hours and also features the creative talents of director Stephen Daldry.

This is shaping up to be a pretty extravagant start to the Olympic games! Are U excited or what?

Meat Free Monday

Sir Paul McCartney's first cookbook, The Meat Free Monday Cookbook, went on sale Monday and aims to encourage people to eat less meat!

Proceeds from the book are all going toward his family's campaign, Meat Free Monday, which dares people to eat meat-free meals at least one day a week.

Paul believes that by going vegetarian for just one day a week, people can “make a huge difference for the better and set a new pattern for the future of this beautiful planet that we all inhabit”.

On top of curbing pollution, improving health and promoting the ethical treatment of animals, the former Beatle suggests in the book's foreword that avoiding meat one day a week will also save consumers money, explaining:

"In difficult economic times, people discovered that have at least one meat-free day in their week helped their family budget.”

The cookbook consists of McCartney family vegetarian recipes, plus contributions from famous friends like model Twiggy and Horrible Bosses actor Kevin Spacey.

Paul McCartney olympics

Sir Paul McCartney is set to headline the London 2012 Olympic Games' opening ceremony and we couldn't be more thrilled!

Organizers had hoped "to have the cream of British music all in the line-up", but after The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin took themselves out of the running, sources say "Paul will be joined on stage by some younger stars."

That's pretty cool! It will be nice to see some of Britain's biggest music stars of tomorrow joined by one of the biggest music stars of…EVER!

Maybe playing alongside the music icon at the largest sporting event in the world will help launch the next biggest British sensation since the Beatles themselves!
