Kobe Bryant had to sit out a practice because of his gastroenteritis!
This becomes news for a few reasons:

Awwww, Kobe Bryant is sticking up for his former teammate!
Apparently the Mavericks' fans aren't happy with Lamar Odom — as they've started to boo harder and harder whenever he hits the court.
Here's what Kobe had to say about it:
“That’s just stupidity. It’s tough. He comes to a team that’s pretty much set, you know what I mean? So it’s hard for him to find his niche. The fans, they don’t really understand what he does or how he can do it, you know what I mean? I hope they don’t unlock that mystery. I know. I know how to use him and to use his skill set and this, that and the other. But with this team, the roster that they had being pretty much set, it’s tough for him to be able to find his groove here.”
That's so nice of Kobe to say, and we think that there is a chance that Lamar will bounce back, but at what point do you stop making excuses?
It's entirely possible that sadly, he just isn't the player he used to be!
Only time will tell, though. The problem is — how much time do you give for something like that?
We hope you get back in the groove, Lamar!

A lot of people aren't very happy about Vanessa Bryant apparently reconciling with Kobe after getting his houses and a pretty big pay out from their pending divorce.
We mean, she WAS caught kissing him after a recent game!
Shaunie O'Neal isn't one of the people who cares the throw shade at the whole situation:
"I think it's wonderful … too much energy to be angry … some situations are worse than others, but I love it."
That whole relationship is… well… rocky. We just want people to be happy and to not be hurt.
We just want them to be sure that going around in circles is good for them! Especially their kids!
Think of the kids!

This is what happens when you give the underdogs a chance!
Mimicking the stellar rise of Jeremy Lin, a Tennessee teenager with down syndrome surprised his entire high school when he was finally given a chance to get off the bench and play on the basketball team.
His coach was hesitant

What is all this Linsanity we keep hearing about?
Jeremy Lin, a New York Knick who didn't get a scholarship to play basketball in college OR get drafted after college, is now covering Sports Illustrated for the SECOND week in a row.
The point guard has been benched most of his career, but we doubt he'll be getting too much rest during games anymore. He has become one of the hottest athletes in the NBA after he got his chance to play earlier this month when his team was plagued with injuries.
Since then, he's been a driving force behind all of the New York Knicks' victories and even outscored Kobe Bryant with 38 points when they beat the Lakers on February 10th!
Getting back-to-back covers is no easy feat either! The last player to create enough buzz around himself in such a short period of time was Dallas Maverick Dirk Nowitzki when he lead his team to an NBA championship last June.
If Jeremy keeps averaging 27.3 points a game, we imagine he'll be featured on plenty more covers in the future!
