One of our favorite FitPerez Contributors actually spent a bunch of time for a TV show to earn money for a charity. Unfortunate, the show wasn't a hit.

It's never too late to make a change, and that's the point that Ajay Rochester, Fitperez Contributor, is trying to instill with this message:

It’s not too late to start your new year’s resolutions! Guess what? It’s never too late to make a change for the better. It’s not like there’s some government body that will come and escort you from the gym just because you started your New Year’s health kick a few weeks later than you thought you would.

Just the same as not waiting till the first day of the next month or even thinking you have to start on a Monday. Start NOW. Not tomorrow, next week, next month or worse still next year after having another year fall on empty promises to make the changes that will help you live a healthier happier life.

Living a better quality of life is as simple as deciding that the next meal will be healthier than the last and committing to walking at least 30 minutes a day. Come on, you know you can do that!

Get up, throw the junk food from your cupboards and the cobwebs from your legs and get moving. Let today be the very first day of your new healthy year and your longer life because of it.

A FitPerez reader has been inspired by Hugh Jackman's HAWT Wolverine bod in the X-Men films, but wants to know if his training methods will actually work for a non-celebrity. For answers, they wrote diet author and former Biggest Loser host Ajay Rochester, asking:

I heard Hugh Jackman say that when he was training for X-men and when he got that incredible body to die for that he became an “alarm clock” when it came to food, even waking up at 2 am to have egg white protein shakes. How can eating like this help people without Hollywood trainers?

The Perks Of 'Hooping'

Apparently, there's a new fitness craze out there, but its foundations are about as classic as they come: Hula Hooping!

We've been hearing about it recently, and how celebs are getting on board with it, so here are some questions from Ajay Rochester about it and the answers to clear them up from Celebrity Hula Hooper Lisa Breaux!

Why is hooping becoming so popular?

Hooping is the next big fitness craze because it has been proven that 10 minutes of vigorous hooping is equivalent to jogging an 8 minute mile and it is FUN !! This core cardio workout also tones the arms the entire time you are hooping and it massages the toxins from around the waistline where toxins are stored. This high energy workout is a non-impact activity for boys, girls, men and women alike and ranges from ages 4 to our oldest hooper who is 90 years old. It is a fitness activity that the entire family can do together.

Who is hooping?

I personally hooped at The White House with President First Lady Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia. While there I also taught Ellen Degeneres's mother, Betty Degeneres and DJ Tony how to hoop. I still hoop with Betty at Richard Simmons studio from time to time. Other stars that hoop are Marisa Tomei, Kirstie Alley,Selena Gomez, Zooey Deschanel, Clay Aikens, MiMi Kaboom and many more.

Can it really burn a decent amount of calories to make a difference?

Depending on age, weight and the intensity of the workout the average person can burn up to120-125 calories every 10 minutes.

How did you get to have this awesomely fun job?

As a fitness expert and dance choreographer I started to incorporate the hoop in my workouts over 8 years ago. I have personally hooped with over 2 million children and thousands of adults around the globe.

What’s next?

My goal is to up the fun factor and get as many people around the world hooping for peace, health and happiness. Hoopitup! Worldwide has been chosen to be the hoop representatives for Shape Up U.S. and will tour across the nation empowering, inspiring and motivating kids and adults to get in shape.
